Lila Bernice Bergbigler, 86, of Butler passed away Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 24, 1930, in Whittier, N.C., the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Hattie Bateman Cook.

Lila retired from Sunnyview from the laundry department. She loved to dance and her family meant the world to her.

Surviving are her daughter, Regina Cook of Pineville, N.C.; two sons, Roger Mills of Butler and Gary Mills of Mobile, Ala.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; her sister, Ella Mae Croston of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four brothers, Ronnie Cook of Whittier, N.C., Carl Cook of Newport, Tenn., James Cook of Bryson City, N.C., and Arch Cook of Whittier, N.C.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ruby Lee Dotson; six brothers, Doyle Cook, Earl Cook, G.W. Cook, Glenn Cook, Robert Lee Cook Jr. and Gerald Cook.
