Reuben Marion Holt Jr.
Reuben Marion Holt Jr., 77, of Connoquenessing Township passed away Sunday morning at Butler Memorial Hospital following an illness.
Born Aug. 1, 1940, in Butler, he was the son of the late Reuben Marion and Gladys Herold Holt Sr.
He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Butler.
After 39 years of service, he retired from the former Armco Steel in Butler. He also enjoyed any kind of construction.
He will be remembered for his love as an outdoor sportsman. He belonged to the NRA, Happy Hunter's Club and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He enjoyed hunting, especially Elk, out West. He also enjoyed his family and grandchildren, riding horses, and farming.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Beverly Schilling Holt, whom he married June 13, 1959; his children, Reuben (Wendy) Holt III of Chicora, Jeffrey (Sharon) Holt of Petrolia, Sherrie (Mike) Gagliardi of Carbon Center, Tim (Jill) Holt of Connoquenessing, Jill (Dan) Paul of Prospect; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; his siblings, John Holt of Carbon Center, Beverly Patton of Prospect and Gloria (Bob) Horner of Ellwood City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Rickey Holt, who passed away in 1961; and his brother, Dale Holt.
HOLT — Private interment for Reuben Marion Holt Jr., who died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, was held at the Mount Nebo Cemetery.Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Edward L.
