Allegheny-Clarion Valley Junior/Senior High School

The commencement ceremony for Allegheny-Clarion Valley Junior/Senior High School was held May 22 at the high school campus.

Commencement speakers were valedictorian Grace Barlett, salutatorian Madison Hurrelbrink and Colleen Verostek, class president.

■ Grace is the daughter of Erin and Earl Barlett, of Parker. She was president of the GIVE Club, vice president of the senior class, secretary of the National Honor Society, school board student representative, chief science officer, volunteer coach with the girls’ basketball program, and a member of the academic competition team, and attended the state Governor’s School for the Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University.

She plans to attend Brown University to pursue a major in biochemistry and molecular biology.

■ Madison is the daughter of Brad and Kristin Hurrelbrink, of Emlenton. She was a member of the cheerleading squad, prom committee, student council and Ski Club, and the principal’s list.

She plans to attend PennWest Clarion University as a biology major with a focus in pre-medicine.

Class officers are Colleen Verostek, president; Grace Barlett, vice president; Madison Fox, treasurer; and Izabela Ielase, secretary.
