SEVEN FIELDS — There’s few better ways to kick off the summer than with a community carnival.

“This is the 14th year of the carnival and it’s become a tradition here in Seven Fields,” said borough manager Tom Smith. “It doesn’t matter what age you are, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

The four-day carnival officially opened Wednesday and runs through Saturday. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the rides, food and live entertainment at Seven Fields Town Park, 380 Castle Creek Drive. The carnival will conclude Saturday with fireworks.

Anton Peregoncev and Alexandra Hristodoulou are new to the Seven Fields area and said the carnival is not only a fun way to spend an evening but a great way to get acquainted with their new community.

“We saw the games and wanted to see what it was all about” Peregoncev said. “I think we’re going to bring my younger siblings here on Saturday.”

The young couple, who had some early success with the carnival games, said they are looking forward to trying carnival cuisine.

“I’m excited for a deep-fried Oreo,” Hristodoulou said. “And we’re going to try to win a goldfish.”

Also coming to the carnival for the first time was two-year-old Sophia Craft, whose parents, Sara and Dennis, said this carnival is the perfect event for their daughter.

“We live in the neighborhood and thought we would try this out,” Sara Craft said. “We tried to come on a less busy night to see if it would scare her, and she’s been having such a great time.”

Ross Hurd, of Cranberry Township, said he’s been coming to the carnival every year since he moved to the area in 2020. Along with the sense of community, he said he’s looking forward to the live music and beer garden.

“It’s just a nice way to spend a summer night,” he said. “Good music, good people and good beer.”
