James K. Conner

James K. Conner, 69, of Ford City passed away Friday in his home.

Born on Sept. 6, 1944, in Kittanning, he was a son of the late Harry Alvin Merle Conner and Dorothy Mae (Schrecengost) Conner.

Jim was a coal miner, having worked with Carpentertown Coal and Coke. He then worked at Nature's Blend in Ford City.

He enjoyed playing bingo and taking trips to the Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca, N.Y.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle R. Conner of Saxonburg; his son, James P. Conner of Ford City; his grandchildren, Matthew, Hunter, Morgan, Jason, Kaylie and Amanda; his great-grandson, Kristopher; his brothers and sisters, Alvin Blair Conner, Barbara Ann Conner, Beverly Jean Conner, Frank Blain Conner, Cheryle Lynn Wagner and Chris Allen Conner; and his brother-in-law and friend, Paul “Sonny” Surovic.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia “Pat” (Surovic) Conner.

Conner — The friends of James K. Conner, who passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, will be welcomed from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the WELCH FUNERAL HOME, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City.Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
