Valencia man accused of stealing, selling rental equipment
A Valencia man allegedly stole and sold a 2018 Vermeer CTX50 mini skid steer in April, according to police.
Ryan M. Kitzky, 26, was charged with two counts of felony theft in relation to the alleged incident.
Cranberry Township Police said the owner of Major Rental called police on April 28 to report the theft of the machine valued at about $25,000.
Police said the equipment had been chained up under a car port, but the chain was cut. The tracks were followed to an abandoned building next door, where it appeared to have been loaded onto a vehicle, the criminal complaint said.
On May 3, a post on Facebook Marketplace was selling the equipment in West Virginia, police said. The owner of Major Rental confirmed it was the missing equipment due to specific markings and damage on it. The serial number also confirmed it was the stolen machine, police said.
Kitzky is currently being held at Butler County Prison awaiting his preliminary set for June 19 under Judge Amy M. Marcinkiewicz.
His bail is set at $5,000.
