‘Beat the Peak’ initiative encouraged for Central Electric customers Tuesday
Central Electric Cooperative is encouraging customers to conserve energy through its “Beat the Peak” initiative on Tuesday, June 18, by raising thermostats a few degrees, and putting energy-heavy chores on hold.
Beat the Peak is slated for 1 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, and customers can contribute by turning off non-essential electric items and hiking your thermostat a few degrees.
Central Electric Cooperative also suggested customers use pool pumps, dehumidifiers or electric appliances after peak hours to conserve energy.
According to the company, reducing electricity use during those hours can help stabilize future power costs for customers.
