Pizor

James H. Pizor, 82, of New Castle, passed away the evening of Monday, June 17, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born June 7, 1942, in Butler, he was the son of the late Harrison and Jane Pizor.

In December of 2021, he was preceded in death by his wife, Scharlene L. (Rhodes) Pizor.

In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his son, Ronald J. Pizor.

James worked as the head mechanic for Mack Garage for several years. He then went on to work for PennDOT, as head mechanic, until his retirement. James enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing and restoring tractors.

Survivors include his favorite grandson, Mark J. Pizor of New Castle; daughter-in-law, Veronica Pizor of New Castle; and one brother, Tom Pizor of Butler.

PIZOR — Visitation for James H. Pizor, who died Monday, June 17, 2024, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at R. CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation on Friday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frederick H. Gilbert, of Independent Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Hermon Cemetery, alongside his wife and son.
