Butler commemorates Juneteenth

“Uniting in Poetry & Song: A Juneteenth Celebration,” held Wednesday at the Butler YWCA featured food, fellowship and music.
The event is intended to bring people from local religious and other community organizations together to learn about and celebrate Juneteenth, a national holiday. Throughout the evening, the event will include a potluck dinner, poetry readings and group singing.
Juneteenth is a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States after the Civil War.
