Janice Rader Caldwell
Janice R. Rader Caldwell, 84, of Evans City passed away Friday at St. John's Specialty Care Center in Mars after an extended illness.
Born Aug. 17, 1925, in Zelienople, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Ida Rader.
She was an Avon representative for 10 years, retiring in 1989. She was a life member of the Evans City Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary, serving as chaplain; a past member of the Evans City VFW Post 499 Ladies Auxiliary, serving 20 years as hospital chairman; a member of the AARP; and a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Evans City.
She enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards, playing the piano, camping and traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ernest W. Caldwell of Evans City, whom she married Feb. 23, 1945; two sons, William Caldwell of Zelienople and James Caldwell and his wife, Lisa, of Renfrew; a daughter, Cheryl Caldwell of Evans City; six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother and a daughter, Darlene.
