Butler County at slight risk for severe weather Sunday
Western Pennsylvania is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m. Sunday, June 23.
According to the National Weather Service Pittsburgh, parts of Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia are under watch for gusts of up to 70 miles per hour and hail the size of pin pong balls. There is also the chance for “a couple tornadoes.”
The National Weather Service initially set Western Pennsylvania at a level two out of five for severe weather Sunday. A “slight risk” means there is increased confidence that a region will see severe weather, according to the National Weather Service Pittsburgh.
