Eleanor J. Puz

Puz

Eleanor J. Puz, 82, of Saxonburg, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Magnolia Place of Saxonburg.

Born Aug. 6, 1941, in Cabot, she was the daughter of John Lewis Johnston and Dorothy Davis Johnston.

Eleanor had four jobs in her lifetime. First was typing envelopes at the bank on Main and Jefferson streets in Butler. From there, she worked at Heckett Engineering, followed by Western Auto for 13 years. For the last 30 years of her career, she worked at Magnetics, a division of Spang and Co., in the accounting department, where she did payroll. She retired on Jan. 30, 2004.

Eleanor grew up active in the Grange and 4-H. She was active in sewing club. She collected elephants and was a great at crocheting and doing counted cross stitch. Eleanor bowled in a Wednesday night league at B & W Lanes. She was a Red Hatter and was Queen Emeritus of the Crimson Chapeau Cuties.

Surviving are nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William A. Puz, to whom she was happily married for nearly 27 years and who passed on March 15, 2010.

PUZ — Friends of Eleanor J. Puz, who died Saturday, June 22, 2024, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Seth McClymonds officiating.

Interment will follow in Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
