Jean Robinson Byers
Jean Robinson Byers, 73, of New Bethlehem, Clarion County, died at 6:15 a.m. Monday at Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Sligo, following an illness.
Born Nov. 14, 1931, in Parker, she was the daughter of Roy Elno and Florence Silverthorn Watts.
She began her career as a clerk in the West Monterey Post Office and she was the Postmaster at the time the office was closed. She later held positions of clerk at the Eau Claire, Knox and Harrisville post offices.
Following postal work, Mrs. Byers was employed at the Clarion Mall at the GNC Store and The Dollar Store.
She was Methodist.
Her great love was that of spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Sandra) Marsh of Sligo, Mrs. Christopher (Brenda) Runyan of West Sunbury and Mrs. Micah (Marlene) Kepple of Chicora; a sister, Mrs. Art (Viola) Milford of Clarview Nursing Home, Sligo; two brothers, Richard Watts of Charleston, S.C., and Ernie Watts of Idaho; also six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Robinson, who died Nov. 25, 1989. Also preceding her in death were three sisters and a brother.
BYERS - Friends of Jean Robinson Byers, who died Monday, April 4, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the H. JACK BUZARD FUNERAL HOME, Wayne Street, Parker. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Bessie Maihle and Gregory Stiver officiating. Burial will be in the West Monterey Cemetery, Perry Township, Clarion County.
