Parker man dies in motorcycle-truck crash
LICKING TWP, Clarion County — A Parker area man was killed Wednesday afternoon when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer in eastern Clarion County, state police said.
Jeffrey Miller Jr., 24, of Perry Township died at Clarion Hospital of injuries suffered in the wreck just before 1:30 p.m. in Licking Township, about three miles north of Callensburg.
Authorities said Miller was traveling west on Route 368 on a 2006 Honda motorcycle when he traveled into the opposing lane and struck the side of a 2013 Freightliner truck.
The trucker driver Bryan Rutherford, 51, of Martinsburg, W.Va., was not hurt.
The two vehicles collided on a straightaway and investigators did not immediately know what caused Miller to travel into the other lane.
Police did not say if Miller was wearing a helmet.
He was taken to Clarion Hospital where he later died in the emergency room. He was pronounced dead at 3:40 p.m.
Sligo, Callensburg and Parker volunteer firefighters assisted police at the scene and Southern Clarion County and Knox Ambulance crews also were called.
Miller worked for Point of Caring, Inc., a Knox-based residential/group home provider.
