Richard Long

Long

Richard “Dick” Norman Long, 88, of Evans City, born on April 25, 1936, was taken home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

He was born in Petrolia, the son of the late Leighton Long and Gladys Flatness Long. He graduated from Deer Creek High School, followed by Robert Morris Business College. His career progressed from the trucking industry to real estate, and his final working years were spent as a church manager, which was his favorite.

Dick was a true servant of God. He was an elder in the Presbyterian church, and prior to that a deacon in other congregations. Dick was a supportive friend to many pastors, listening to their concerns and supporting them. He was a true confidant.

His greatest joy was his 53-year marriage to Linda Larkin Long. His pride was his children, Jeffrey D. Long, and twin daughters, Jill A. (Robert) Matter and Jan B. Craig. His special blessings were his four grandchildren, Camryn and Emily Craig, and Bobby and Julie Matter.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Long; and his sister, Yvonne Struble.
