Zelienople police lieutenant sworn in
ZELIENOPLE — The borough police department’s Kevin Mikulan was sworn in as a lieutenant with a badge-pinning ceremony during council’s meeting on Monday evening, July 8.
“He’s a well-qualified police officer, and I knew some time ago that he is a well-qualified lieutenant,” said Mayor Thomas M. Oliviero. “I enjoy working with him too. I enjoy working with all of my officers.”
Mikulan started his career with the Zelienople Police Department in 2012 as a patrolman. He was promoted to sergeant in 2018, according to the department’s Facebook page.
“Sgt. Mikulan, prior to being a lieutenant, has done an excellent job. He is a very positive influence on the police department. He is an excellent police officer,” said council president Mary E. Hess. “He’s very well-trained, and he has taken every opportunity to improve his experience. Classes, training, he works very hard for Zelienople and he is very committed to the community.”
