Michael Phillippi

Michael D. Phillippi, 59, of Buffalo Township, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021, while in the company of family, at UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh.

Mike was born in Natrona Heights on Dec. 21, 1961, a son of Mildred M. (Olczak) Phillippi of Buffalo Township and the late Dean L. Phillippi. Mike was a 1979 graduate of Freeport Area High School.

He worked as a truck driver for a number of companies. He had owned and operated a landscaping company and he had worked for NAPA Auto Parts in Natrona Heights. Mike enjoyed landscaping, trucking and farming. Mike’s passion was working on and being around dirt track cars and spending time at the races. He attended Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver.

In addition to his mother, Mike is survived by his sister, Lori (Bill) Hewitt, of Buffalo Township; brother, Jeff (Kim) Phillippi and his girlfriend, Margaret Freehling, both of Buffalo Township. He is also survived by three nephews and two nieces. Justin (Amanda) Phillippi, Brandon Phillippi, Amanda, Angela and Logan Hewitt; and great- niece and nephew, Alexis and Jaxson Phillippi.

Mike is preceded in death by his father, Dean L. Phillippi.

Phillippi — Family and friends of Michael D. Phillippi, who died Saturday, April 10, 2021, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Zion United Methodist Church in Sarver with Pastor Rob Wilson, officiating.

Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery Freeport.
