Ruth P. Ryder

Ruth "Laine" Patterson Ryder, 81, of 315 State St., Grove City, passed away peacefully in her sleep early Tuesday morning at home while surrounded by loved ones.

Born June 1, 1924, in Slippery Rock, she was the daughter of James Lewis and Hazel Moore Patterson.

She was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School and attended the Pittsburgh Art Institute.

Mrs. Ryder was a homemaker and had been a dispatcher for the GroveCity Police Department. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching and her dogs, Laney and Brody.

Mrs. Ryder was a member of the East Main Presbyterian Church, GroveCity.

Surviving are two sons, Bradley J. Ryder and his wife, Elizabeth Ryder, of Grove City; and Michael B. Ryder and his wife, Debra Ryder, and their two children, Laura and Seth Ryder, all of Pittsburgh; and a sister, Nina Gallagher; of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Her husband, James A. Ryder, whom she married Feb. 14, 1947, died Oct. 25, 1986. A brother, James P. Patterson, also preceded her death.

<B>RYDER</B> — Friends of Ruth "Laine" Patterson Ryder, who died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Services will be at 10:30 a. m. Friday at the funeral home with Monsignor Edward Zeitler, pastor of the Church of the Beloved Disciple of Grove City, officiating. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
