Joseph W. Umbaugh Jr.
Joseph W. Umbaugh Jr., 64, of Worthington passed away unexpectedly Monday at home with his niece, Gidget, by his side.
He was born on July 3, 1950, in Kittanning to the late Joseph W. and Bertha Eunice Wyant Umbaugh Sr.
Joe was a devoted husband, uncle and friend to everyone. He was often seen at go-cart races watching his great-nephew, Nick, race his go-cart, and he loved to listen to his great-niece, Brittany, play her guitar. Joe also loved to spend time hunting with family and playing ball with his companion dog, Rudy.
Joe belonged to the Kittanning East Brady Lodge 244 F&AM and to the Valley of Coudersport Consistory in Coudersport.
He was currently working at J.S.P. International in East Butler and was previously a supervisor of mine maintenance at the Moonlight Mushroom Farm in Worthington until it closed.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gloria Jean Lucas Umbaugh; his brother, Larry Dean (Judith) Umbaugh; his nieces, Gidget (Larry) Reitler, Beth (Alfred) Umbaugh and Bonnie (Donald) Sedlacek; his nephews, Larry Roy Umbaugh and Brian (Cathy) Umbaugh; his great-nieces, Brittany Reitler, Amanda and Ashley Umbaugh, Haley Sigwart and Jillian Sedlacek; and his great-nephews, Nick Reitler, Alfred Sigwart Jr. and Errett Sedlacek.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Candida Roofner Umbaugh.
Umbaugh— The family and friends of Joseph W. Umbaugh Jr., who passed away Monday, March 2, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 119 Bear St., Worthington.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Pastor Brad French officiating.
