Joan Zimmerly
Joan Howsare Zimmerly, 72, of Cabot died Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.
Born Nov. 9, 1936, in Pitcairn, she was the daughter of Westley D. and Kathryn M. (Kintz) Howsare.
She retired from the Buffalo Township Supervisors office after 15Z\x years as township secretary and treasurer.
She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Cabot. She also was a member of the Square One Brackenridge square dance club.
Joan enjoyed walking, her grandchildren and square dancing.
Her faith served as an inspiration to all others as she bravely battled cancer.
Surviving are her three daughters, Ms. Bobbi Joan Balicki of Pittsburgh, Ms. Vicki Susan Knapp of Cranberry Township and Miss Marianne Zimmerly of Butler; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Raymer Howsare of Pittsburgh and Frank Howsare of California; and one sister, Mrs. Susan Stratton of Connecticut.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Robert L. Zimmerly in 1997; one son, William Zimmerly in 1959; one brother; and one sister.
