Elenor Jane Mishler

Elenor Jane (Fleming) Mishler, 85, of Slippery Rock Township died Wednesday at the Grove City Medical Center after a long and difficult struggle with multiple myeloma.

She was born April 27, 1923, in Dayton, Pa., the daughter of the late Dr. Edward L. and Augusta Maude Fleming.

She was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Medical School and Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health.

She practiced medicine professionally under the name Dr. E. Jane Fleming. In her career, she served as medical director of the Pittsburgh public schools and later as associate director of the Allegheny County Health Department.

Surviving are her husband, Fred Mishler, whom she married July 16, 1949; a daughter, Patricia and her husband, Daniel Wolfe, of Houston, Texas; and a son, David Mishler and his wife, Vonda, of Slippery Rock Township.

She was a member of the Slippery Rock Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

Her interests included golf, bridge, travel, sewing, quilting, and the love and care of animals.

<B>MISHLER</B> — There will be no public visitation. A memorial service for Elenor Jane (Fleming) Mishler, who died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., with the Rev. Pamela Gardner, pastor of the Slippery Rock Methodist Church, officiating.Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, or to an animal shelter of the donor's choice.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
