Ruth I. Minnear
Ruth I. Minnear, 81, of Butler passed away at 3:50 a.m. Friday at Concordia Lutheran Services, Cabot.
Ruth was born on Jan. 15, 1933, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late James E. Davies and Ruth Metcalf Davies.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Muddycreek Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling, four-wheeling and going to camp in the mountains with her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially birdwatching with her great-grandson, Brendyn.
Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Max) Baptiste of Butler and Patty (Chris) Yost of Eau Claire; her son, Kenneth Minnear of Butler; her 13 grandchildren; her 17 great-grandchildren, and her brother, James Davies and his wife of Pittsburgh.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Minnear, who passed away on Dec. 8, 2011; her daughter, Christine Metz, and her sister.
Minnear— The friends of Ruth I. Minnear, who passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Ruth's grandson, Thomas Metz Jr., officiating.
