Eileen June Diehl Steighner, 75, of 100 Sunbury Fields, formerly of Brandon Road, died at 7:34 a.m. Monday at UPMC Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born Dec. 1, 1930, in Butler, she was the daughter of Charles and LaCrete McCormick Diehl.

Mrs. Steighner was a homemaker; and for years, she was a seamstress for Bobbie Brooks clothing. She also was a saleswoman in the jewelry department at Boscov's Department Store. During World War II, she was a machine operator producing gun shells at Kennametal.

She was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, Center Township.

She enjoyed playing bingo and was a connoisseur of homemade noodles.

Her husband, Ronald P. Steighner, whom she married June 4, 1949, died March 7, 2004.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald W. Steighner and his wife, Connie, and Richard C. "Rick" Steighner and his wife, Brenda, all of Butler; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

A brother, Russell Diehl of Butler; four sisters, Mrs. Walter (Etoile "Tillie") Morey of Butler, Mrs. Harold (Vivian) Tribble of Slippery Rock, Mrs. Burton (Vanda Mae) Brewster of Meridian and Mrs. Alice Raskowski of New Castle, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

<B>STEIGHNER</B> — Friends of Eileen June Diehl Steighner, who died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, North Main Street Extension, with the Rev. James Salberg officiating.
