David R. Glenn Sr.

David R. Glenn Sr., 71, of Enterprise Road, Grove City, died at 12:05 a.m. Jan. 2 at the Grove City Medical Center.

Born Oct. 2, 1937, he was the son of James K. and Sarah A. Walthour Glenn.

He was a mechanic at Sevins Tire of Slippery Rock for 10 years before retiring in 2003. Formerly, he worked for the Perry Brother Coal Co. as a heavy equipment operator for 22 years.

He was a member of The Church of Latter Day Saints in Slippery Rock.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed playing the slot machines.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine J. McFerren Glenn, whom he married Sept. 11, 1959; two sons, David R. Glenn Jr. and his wife, Aileen, of Grove City and Stephen P. Glenn of Grove City; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a sister, Sally M. Nix and her husband, Arthur, of Dittlewiddy, Va.; and a brother, Donald J. Glenn and his wife of Ashland, Va.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Delmar L. Glenn.

<B>GLENN</B>— A memorial service for David R. Glenn Sr., who died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene, 520 N. Center St., Grove City.Arrangements are by <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.
