Police Reports
The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts:
July 6 — Jeremy Green, 47, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault related to a July 5 disturbance on Kendall Avenue. Police said Green shoved and hit his girlfriend causing bleeding injuries. Police said he also hit a man who was trying to break up the fight and that he appeared drunk during his arrest.
July 5 — Nicole A. Weltz, 45, of Slippery Rock, was charged with misdemeanor leaving the scene of a crash related to a June 14 accident in the Bon Aire Plaza parking lot. Police said Weltz rear-ended another vehicle and fled the scene. Police said Weltz’s driver’s license is DUI suspended.
July 5 — Javon O. Littlejohn, 21, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to a July 3 investigation at Giant Eagle. Police said Littlejohn concealed items valued at about $15 in the pockets of his jacket.
11:42 a.m. July 2 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at Benbrook Road and Greenwood Drive. Police said Mary Kelly, 88, of Butler, entered the intersection and hit a vehicle driven by Kelly Maschock, 44, of Apollo. Police said no one was injured, but both vehicles were towed from the scene.
June 26 — Arthur M. Merideth, 33, and Angelina M. Bairhalter, 47, both of Pittsburgh, were charged with misdemeanor counts of retail theft and conspiracy related to a May 26 investigation at Walmart. Police said the pair bagged 52 unscanned items and tried to leave with it before being stopped by employees. The items’ total value was about $400.
June 25 — Antwain S. Washington, 51, of Clairton, Pa., was charged with felony retail theft and misdemeanor possession of stolen property related to an April 30 incident at Walmart. Police said surveillance video shows Washington enter and leave the store twice within the span of about 30 minutes, leaving both times with unpaid items with a total value of $562.
April 26 — Clint D. Goodenow, 30, of Beaver Falls, was charged with misdemeanor theft related to an envelope filled with $1,000 cash that went missing Feb. 19 from Mad Mex. Police said a restaurant patron accidentally dropped the envelope in a booth, where Goodenow, who was a server there, picked it up and kept it.
July 8 — Charles B. Wedge, 68, of Evans City, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI related to a June 13 vehicle crash at the intersection of Textor Hill and Textor School roads. Police said he drove into a trash can, a road sign and bushes. Field sobriety tests showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at .238%. In Pennsylvania, .08% is the legal limit.
July 8 — Anthony P. Savannah, 44, of Butler, was charged with felony counts of theft and possessing stolen property related to a Jan. 30 investigation into a FedEx employee stealing from company vehicles. Police said surveillance video shows Savannah targeting and stealing GameStop shipments valued at about $4,630.
July 2 — Brandon E. Kline, 31, of Evans City, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI and one misdemeanor count of driving without a mandated ignition interlock system related to a May 10 traffic stop on Lindsay Road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Kline was impaired, and a later test showed his blood alcohol content at .163%. In Pennsylvania, .08% is the legal limit. Police said Kline has two past DUI convictions and has been ordered to drive only vehicles with a Ignition Interlock system.
July 8 — Joshua K. Sipp, 29, of Saxonburg, was charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct related to an incident at Jim Kriley Sales & Services on Pittsbugh Road. Police said Sipp instigated and engaged in a fight with an employee. Police said both men suffered injuries, and Sipp destroyed a toolbox valued at $1,350.
July 8 — Jayden J. Bowman, 21, of Slippery Rock, and Brandon M. Lewis, 22, of Pittsburgh were charged with misdemeanor retail theft related to a June 7 investigation at Sheetz. Police said the pair stole more than $1,100 of food and drink items across a span of four months.
July 3 — Alanna M. Laipple, 33, of Bridgeville, was charged in Muddy Creek Township with two misdemeanor counts of DUI and one misdemeanor count of child endangerment related to a July 3 report of a vehicle that drove through a field, through a fence and then became stuck. Police said they found Laipple at the scene with her two children. Police said field sobriety tests showed Laipple was impaired, and a later breath test showed her blood alcohol content at .247%. In Pennsylvania, .08% is the legal limit.
July 1 — Matthew T. Benner, 46, of Bulger, was charged with three misdemeanor counts of DUI related to a May 24 traffic stop on Route 422 near its intersection with Route 528. Police said field sobriety tests showed Benner was impaired, and he later refused to have his blood tested.
June 28 — Dylan M. Austin, 25, of Butler, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI related to a June 6 vehicle crash on Argyle Street in Petrolia. Police said Austin crashed his car into a telephone pole and fled into a nearby wooded area. Police said field sobriety test showed he was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at .11%. In Pennsylvania, .08% is the legal limit.
June 28 — Edward E. Scott Jr., 44, of West Sunbury, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of DUI related to a June 8 traffic stop on Route 308 in Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Scott was impaired, and a later blood test showed the presence of meth and suboxone in his system.
June 28 — Michele E. Boofer, 44, of Petrolia, was charged with felony retail theft related to a June 27 incident at Giant Eagle in Center Township. Police said Boofer stole $200 worth of grocery items, and she has four past retail theft convictions.
June 24 — Heather M. Brannen, 38, of Harmony, was charged with four felony counts of aggravated assault and many misdemeanors, including counts of simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, related to a June 24 domestic disturbance on Hufnagel Road in Muddy Creek Township. Police said found Brannen damaging property. Police said during her arrest Brannen spit, kicked and fought with officers, causing a cut to an officer’s arm, and she kicked two EMTs.
