Ellis and Doris Cooper

Ellis and Doris Cooper of Chicora celebrated 50 years of marriage with a surprise dinner with family and friends at Ciafre's Runway Restaurant in Butler.

Cooper married the former Doris Sweeney on Dec. 5, 1959, in Bruin.

They have one child, Claudia Cooper-Fischer of Butler.

They also have two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Cooper is retired from Penreco. He enjoys golf, hunting and fishing. He is a member of the Chicora Moose.

Mrs. Cooper is a homemaker. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking trips to the beach.
