Mildred V. Beabout, 84, of East Brady died peacefully Tuesday in her home surrounded by her children.

Born Sept. 10, 1923, in East Brady, she was the daughter of James I. and Luella L. Kamerer Silvis.

She was a member of the East Brady Baptist Church.

Mrs. Beabout, a 1941 graduate of East Brady High School, was a homemaker and an avid bingo player.

Surviving are a son, William F. Hicks and his wife, Betty, of Parker; three daughters and their husbands, Carolyn Crawford and Russell "Butch" of Bradys Bend, Janice Crawford and Kenneth of Butler and Patricia Everetts and Earl "Sonny" of Cowansville; a stepdaughter, Eloise Freeland of Kirkwood; two brothers, Harry Silvis and his wife, Ruth, of Georgia and Melvin Silvis of Clarion; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Arthur R. Beabout, who she married Nov. 1, 1969, died Nov. 26, 2002. She also was preceded in death by two sons, Larry and Richard Hicks; a daughter, Vickie Anne Hicks; six brothers; three sisters; a stepson; a stepson-in-law; a granddaughter; and a step-grandson.

<B>BEABOUT</B> — Friends of Mildred V. Beabout, who died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home</B>, 105 Fourth St., East Brady. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of the Church of God of Prophecy, Rimersburg, officiating. Burial will be at the Bradys Bend Cemetery.
