Anna K. 'Ann' (Borland) Rape
Anna K. “Ann” (Borland) Rape, 91, of Zelienople passed away Sunday while under the care of the VNA Hospice in Butler.
Born Sept. 15, 1920, in Mars, she was the daughter of the late James Albert and Annie (Kaufman) Borland.
Ann was a member of the St. Peter's Reformed Church and the Eastern Star.
For 28 years, she worked for the Blum Shoe Store in Zelienople, and for three years she worked for the Shoe Place in the Harmony Plaza.
For more than 50 years, she would help her husband as he played the part of Santa Claus. She also enjoyed playing the part of Mrs. Claus at Christmas parties.
She loved to bake and crochet, and she was a gifted seamstress.
Ann always had a positive outlook on life and was always happy; her life truly mirrored the Serenity Prayer. Above all, she was a selfless and wonderful homemaker who put her family first, and she supported her entire family in all of their endeavors.
She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She is survived by two loving daughters, Darlene A. (David) Wogan of East Brady and Sharyn A. (Tim) McMaster of Zelienople; a daughter-in-law, Ruthanne Rape of Columbus, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Corinne Markel, Todd Wogan, Marc, Brett and Bruce Rape, Scott McMaster and Alecia Flood; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, K. Burnett Rape, who she married June 29, 1940, in the St. Peter's Reformed Church and who passed away March 11, 2006; her son, Kenneth A. Rape; three brothers, John, Scott and Roy Borland; and three sisters, Sarah Swan, Janet Borland and Esther Borland.
<B>RAPE</B> — The family of Anna K. “Ann” (Borland) Rape, who died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Peter’s Reformed Church, Zelienople, with the Rev. James R. Bertoti, her church pastor, officiating. Friends please meet at the church.
