Arthur 'Pete' McLaughlin

Arthur "Pete" Ralph McLaughlin

Arthur “Pete” Ralph McLaughlin, 69, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

He was born Aug. 28, 1945, in Butler, the son of Opal (Rearick) McLaughlin and the late Arthur Leroy McLaughlin.

Pete was in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was employed for 35 years by the City of Butler as a truck driver for the Street Department.

He was a former member of the Moose Lodge 64 and the American Legion Post 778. He was a Civil War buff and loved to golf, hunt and fish.

Surviving are his mother, Opal McLaughlin of Cook Forest, Pa.; two sons, Patrick (Marcie) McLaughlin of Butler and Jonathan (Misty) McLaughlin of Hilliards; two grandsons, Austin and Layne; and two brothers, Gary McLaughlin and Rodney McLaughlin, both of Leeper, Pa.

MCLAUGHLIN — Friends of Arthur “Pete” Ralph McLaughlin, who died Wednesday, May 27, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Blessing services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Interment will be in the North Side Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 778 and the VFW Post 249.Contributions may be made in memory of Pete to the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit, 134 Marwood Rd., Cabot 16023.For more information, go to www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
