SRU, Community Health Challenge get underage drinking grant
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board awarded grant funding to two Butler County agencies to help cut down on underage drinking.
Community Health Challenge of Southwestern Pennsylvania is getting $29,300 to bring in a national keynote speaker, create social media messages and to fund its Project Sticker Shock; and Slippery Rock University is getting $49,969 to fund enforcement patrols, equipment and training through the National Association of Student Administrators Personnel Administrators.
Since the inception of the grants program in 1999, the Liquor Control Board has awarded more than $21.1 million in alcohol-education grants to fund programs that focus on proven strategies to discourage and reduce both underage and dangerous drinking.
