Esther Mae Shelatree

Esther Mae Shelatree, 82, of Venango Township, Boyers, passed away Friday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler, following an illness of several months.

Born in Center Township, Butler County, on May 18, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William and Amy Studebaker Rader.

She was a former member of the Eau Claire Presbyterian Church.

Esther enjoyed cooking and baking, sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her two daughters, Amy (Richard) Bailey and Betty (John) Reese, all of Boyers; her two grandchildren, Chris and Amanda Reese; her siblings, Edward Rader of Los Angeles, and Nettie (Don) Dodds of Grove City, and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle E., who she married on Oct. 12, 1962, in West Sunbury and who passed away on Oct. 30, 2006; her daughter, Esther Shelatree Borchert, who passed away on Aug. 14, 2007, and her siblings, Amy, Robert, Lyle, and George Rader.

Shelatree— The friends of Esther Mae Shelatree, who passed away Friday, July 25, 2014, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at theH. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S.
