City police investigate shooting with 13 shots fired
City police are investigating a shooting that occurred at an East Walnut Street home Friday night.
Police said one or more suspects fired at least 13 shots into the apartment at 321 E. Walnut Street from the street shortly before 11 p.m.
The apartment is above a garage.
Police said no one was in the apartment when they arrived. However, officers found several bullet holes and fresh blood in the residence.
Empty shell casings were found on the street during the investigation.
Police had no other information Saturday morning.
Officers responded to the scene Friday night after receiving numerous calls from neighbors.
One neighbor said Saturday morning that she heard the gunshots, but didn’t realize what they were at first.
“I’m not use to hearing that around here,” said the woman who asked not to be identified.
Another neighbor saw lights on in the apartment earlier that night.
Neither neighbor knew for certain who lived there.
