Fracking and drilling presentation slated in Grove City
The Citizen’s Environmental Association of the Slippery Rock Area is sponsoring a presentation on the dangers of fracking and drilling waste residue for area doctors, nurses, first responders, students and medical-affiliated staff and concerned citizens.
The seminar, “Cradle to Grave: How Fracking Harms Health,” will be presented by Dr. Edward Ketyer, president of Physicians for Social Responsibility Pennsylvania, at 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Keystone Events Center, 317 Erie St. in Grove City.
Ketyer’s presentation will focus on the pathways of exposure as toxic substances blow off landfills and percolate through the waste stream as leachate and into local surface waters.
The program is free and open to the public, and will be followed by a question-and-answer period.
