William A. Yost

William A. Yost, 81, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

He was born Nov. 13, 1934, in Butler to the late Albert Yost and Margaret (Rocheisen) Yost.

Mr. Yost was a 1952 graduate of Butler High School, who worked for over 25 years with the Laborers Union Local 323. He worked for many years as a mechanic at the B & W Bowling Alley. Mr. Yost served as steward at the East Butler VFD Fireman's Club. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports fan.

Mr. Yost is survived by one daughter, Lisa Ellis and her husband, Brian; three sons, Bill Yost and his wife, Karen, David Yost and his wife, Beth, and Michael Yost and his wife, Cheryl Smith; five grandchildren, Shauna McPherson, Alexandra Feicht, Holly Headley, Brooke Yost and Rylee Yost; one great-grandson, Julian Boccio; one sister, Betty Swidzinski; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Justine (Paulitz) Yost, who he married Oct. 24, 1964, and who passed away Dec. 20, 2011; and two sisters, Hilda Hydak and Gertrude Hattz.

YOST — Friends of William A. Yost, who died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Aull of the Faith United Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will take place at the Gruenwald Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the East Butler Volunteer Fire Department, 808 Grant St., East Butler, PA 16029.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
