It’s tapped.
The sixth annual Sprankle’s Octoberfest kicked off Friday evening and will span through Sunday evening with authentic German food and beer, dancing and music, comedy, contests and more at a new venue, Lernerville Speedway in Buffalo Township.
The event, branded as a “one-of-a-kind three-day festival experience,” began with music at 4 p.m. Friday and continued into the evening with a Keg Tapping Ceremony at 5 p.m.
All weekend long, visitors can enjoy carnival rides, an archery range, carriage rides and a kid’s zone. About 125 vendors will be set up at the event.
On Saturday, a cornhole tournament is planned, and on both Saturday and Sunday, steinholding competitions are planned at the Buffalo Township venue.
Off-site, a Polka Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sunday by Fr. Matt McClain at Saint Francis of Assisi Parish’s Saint Joseph Church in Cabot.
Sprankle’s Octoberfest continues 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
A $10 entry fee will get patrons access to the grounds. Those age 10 and younger get in free.
