BUTLER TWP — One person was injured as a result of a fire at a home on Dubbs Lane in Butler Township on Sunday evening, Sept. 8.

The fire was reported shortly before 6:15 p.m., and led to police closing traffic on the adjoining Mercer Road. According to Michael Schmidt, assistant fire chief of the Butler Township Volunteer Fire Department, the damage to the home was mostly contained to one room, and firefighters had the blaze under control in 15 minutes.

“The state fire marshal is coming out to determine the cause of the fire,” Schmidt said.

The injured person, who was the only occupant in the home at the time of the fire, was taken to AHN’s West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
