Dean Steiner

Dean A. Steiner, 76, of Sligo passed away suddenly from this life into the next at his home on Friday.

Dean was born Aug. 3, 1936. He was the son of John A. Steiner and Dorothy J. (Boyle) Steiner, who preceded him in death.

He graduated from East Brady High School, Class of 1954.

On Sept. 22, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Donna G. (McKinney) Steiner, who survives, and they shared 56 wonderful years together.

Dean worked at the T.W. Phillips Gas and Oil Co., now Peoples TWP, from October 1956 to August 1998. He started as a roustabout in Clarksburg, Pa., worked many years as foreman in the Rimersburg Field, finishing his career in the gas and oil industry from the corporate office in Butler. He was known by many and highly respected within the oil and gas industry in Western Pennsylvania and would unselfishly help or share his knowledge with anyone.

Dean was a member of the Williamson Lodge No. 431 F&AM and a member of the Consistory of Coudersport. He also was a member of the Sligo Presbyterian Church.

He was an active and caring member of his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand however he could. He sat on the board of the Union Council of Governments, Sligo Borough Council and the Sligo Authority, and was a Red Cross CPR and first aid trainer for many years.

Dean enjoyed working, hunting, shooting sports and spending time with family and friends. His pride and joy was his family. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his children and grandchildren. His home was often filled with grandchildren stopping by to see “PaPa”and “MaMa.” He will be greatly missed.

He and his bride of 56 years raised four children in their Madison Street home. He is survived by one son and three daughters, Robert D. Steiner and his wife, Cathy, of Brookville and their children, Justin and Erin, both of Pittsburgh, Lori K. Carrier and her husband, Ricky, of Bellwood and their son, Christopher and his wife, Kristen, and their children, Landon and Raegan of Roaring Spring, Lynn D. Pollock and her husband, Mark, of Sligo and their children, Ronald of Austin, Texas, and Brenton of Cincinnati, and Nancy J. Fulmer and her companion, Daniel Ritenour, of Renfrew and her daughter, Katherine of Callensburg. He also is survived by three brothers and one sister, John Steiner of Springfield, Mo., Fred Steiner of Salamanca, N.Y., Tom Steiner of Chicora and Doris McKee of New Jersey.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Steiner.

STEINER — Relatives and friends of Dean A. Steiner, who passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main St., Rimersburg, where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday with the Rev. Mark Pollock officiating.Burial will follow at Sligo Cemetery, Sligo, Clarion County.Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service, P.O.
