Penn Township house destroyed in morning fire
A two-story, wood frame house in Penn Township was destroyed this morning by a fire.
Volunteer firefighters from Penn, Saxonburg and other fire departments, including some from Allegheny County, responded to the call at 160 Jones Road.
It was not immediately known who may have been in the house at the time of the call shortly after 7 a.m. It appeared no one was injured since ambulance crews stood by while firefighters worked on the fire.
Firefighters requested the state police fire marshal to come to the scene.
Some of the water firefighters used to fight the fire came from a nearby creek.
