Knoch erupted for five second-half goals in a 6-2 boys soccer victory Thursday against Obama Academy.
Austin Friedline scored a goal and had two assists for the Knights (3-4, 3-2) while Will Parisi scored one goal and helped on another.
Liam Avon, Jacob Murdie and Duncan Schilpp each found the net in the win.
Freeport 1, Highlands 1 — Double-overtime was not enough to determine a winner in this Section 1-2A clash. Angelo Porco scored for the Yellowjackets (4-1-2, 2-1-2).
Boys golf
Seneca Valley and Mars both turned in great rounds at Pheasant Ridge Golf Club.
Neither team’s top five included a score worse than 40, but it was a pair of 34s from Tyler Garvin and Marcos Lopez that led the Raiders to a 182-183 victory over the Planets.
Also scoring for SV were Vinci Villella (36), Anthony Cardosi (38) and Josh Marquardt (40). Mars golfers included Will Campbell (34), Lukas Singh (34), Keegan O’Leary (36), Jackson Geiger (39) and Colin Stevenson (40).
KSAC Mega Match — Karns City’s Joey O'Donnell came in with a 37 to tie for third place individually at Clarion Oaks Golf Course.
Joe Rapp of A-C Valley/Union carded a 38 to help the Falcon Knights finish second as a team with 224 strokes. Led by Kam Kerle’s 33, Clarion won with 189 strokes. Connor Ealy carded a 43 for Moniteau.
Freeport 191, Knoch 212 — Ethan Crooks carded a 36 at Saxon Golf Course to help the Yellowjackets improve to 12-2 on the season.
Aiden Bauman added a 37 and Stephen Evans a 38 for Freeport. Knoch was paced by a 37 from Aaron Voltz.
Girls golf
Makenna Myler shot a 40 in Mars’ 165-175 win over Blackhawk. Addie Nailler added a 41 while Addison Pangonis and Elise Wadas both had 42.

Freeport defeated Knoch in straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-23.
Kenzie Kurtz had seven kills and three blocks for the Knights (3-2, 1-1). Karlee Buterbaugh had six kills and Jess Farbacher 15 digs and four kills. Freeport stats were not available.
Karns City 3, Union 0 — The Gremlins topped the Damsels by scores of 25-12, 25-23 and 25-22.
Naomi Venesky and Regan Schmoll both had nine kills in the victory.Addison Fox tallied 14 assists and 14 digs. Jessica Rodgers had 12 assists and Ashley Maurer five kills.
Kolstin Wetzel paced Union’s effort with seven kills and three aces.
Mars 3, Highlands 0 — Cecilia Christy dropped 11 kills on the Golden Rams while Ella Nicotra, Lily Javor and Rylee Wooldridge each had five.
Kate Southwell tallied five aces and three kills. Gabi Weidemann had 19 assists. Mars won by scores of 25-17, 25-10 and 25-13.
Clarion 3, Moniteau 0 — The Bobcats prevailed by scores of 25-21, 25-10 and 25-13.
Bella Hernandez had four kills and a block for the Warriors. Sayge Brunst added three kills and two blocks.
