Dorothy and Manfred Klann

Manfred and Dorothy Klann, of Butler Township, celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner and a family trip to Punta Cana.

Klann married the former Dorothy Vavro on Sept. 2, 1974, at St. John Catholic Church in Lyndora.

They have three children, Amy Schmidt and Sarah Miller, both of Cranberry Township, and Dana Klann of McDonald, Pa.

The Klanns also have five grandchildren.

Klann is retired from Steamfitters UA Local 449 and previously served in the U.S. Army Special Forces.

Mrs. Klann retired as a reading specialist from the Butler Area School District
