Motorcyclist airlifted after deer collision in Parker Township
A motorcycle rider was injured and airlifted to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after striking a deer head-on on Annisville Road in Parker Township on Tuesday night, Sept. 10.
Patrick C. Bookwalter, 42, of Chicora, encountered the deer as he was traveling west on Annisville Road on his 2000 Yamaha motorcycle at 11:55 p.m, according to a report from state police.
Police said Bookwalter and his motorcycle slid 20 feet before coming to rest.
Bookwalter sustained a “suspected serious” leg injury, and was flown by STAT MedEvac to the hospital. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Both the Karns City Regional Ambulance Service and the Chicora Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the scene to render assistance.
