Police Reports
The following items were collected from various police departments.
Aug. 19 — David W. Eberhardt, 33, of Evans City, was charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and false identification related to an Aug. 19 report of a man looking into people’s mailboxes. Police said as they approached Eberhardt, he gave them a false name. Police said he had multiple warrants for his arrest and as they arrested him, Eberhardt pulled away and ran from them.
Aug. 19 — Tamara R. Sales, 59, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a June 15 vehicle crash on Oneida Valley Road, Center Township. Police said Sales was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where later blood tests showed marijuana in her system.
Aug. 19 — Kevyne L. Cadiente, 21, of Butler, was charged with felony and misdemeanor counts for making a false statement during a Feb. 7, 2023, gun sale at Dunham’s Sports in Center Township. Police said Cadiente failed to note his criminal history.
Aug. 19 — William F. Schlegel Jr., 59, of Slippery Rock, was charged with two felony counts of theft related to an alleged theft at Dunham’s Sports in Center Township. Police said Schlegel took $2,365 that had been misplaced by store employees who meant to deposit the funds.
Aug. 16 — Ryan Williams, 46, of Butler, was charged with multiple charges, including felonies and a misdemeanor related to an Aug. 15 report of a burglary. Police said Williams broke into a garage and stole $250 worth of items. Williams pleaded guilty to misdemeanor trespass on Aug. 29. All other charges were dismissed.
3:39 p.m. Aug. 15 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Saxonburg Boulevard, Clinton Township. Police said after passing several vehicles in a passing zone, Mark T. Hill, 32, of New Kensington, lost control of his vehicle, drove off the road and into a creek bed. Police said he was flown by helicopter to a Pittsburgh hospital with suspected serious injuries.
Aug. 15 — Kelly R. Lynch, 31, of Avalon, was charged with misdemeanor DUI related to a July 21 single-vehicle crash on Route 8 in Center Township. Police said field sobriety tests showed Lynch was impaired, and a later blood test showed his blood alcohol content at .189%. In Pennsylvania, .08% is he legal limit.
Aug. 15 — Walter S. Kradel, 43, of Butler, was charged with misdemeanor drug paraphernalia possession related to his April 11 arrest for a separate matter. Police said during the arrest, they found a metal smoking pipe.
Aug. 15 — Joshua W. Shuler, 38, of Butler, was charged with felony counts of theft and possessing stolen property related to a Feb. 23 down payment for concrete work. Police said Shuler was paid $5,750 but never completed the work.
5:56 p.m. Aug. 14 — Police responded to a motorcycle crash on Foxburg Road in Allegheny Township. Police said Nathan C. Gonsar, 26, of Mount Washington, struck a deer with his motorcycle. Police said Gonsar and his passenger Samantha M. Seaburn, 26, of New Castle, suffered minor injuries. Police said Seaburn was taken from the scene by ambulance.
4 p.m. Aug. 14 — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Campus Side Circle in Slippery Rock Township. Police said the driver of a 2005 Honda Accord backed into a 2019 Honda CRV. Neither driver was identified the police’s public report.
