The Stanley Snyder Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7465 in Volant and the American Legion Post 584 in Mercer teamed up to host the “Triple Threat” charity fundraiser event at the Cobblehaus at the Falls restaurant in Mercer.

The benefit was held to raise money for multiple scholarships.

David Freed, retired Marine and quartermaster for the VFW, said the event raised nearly $20,000, far surpassing its goal of $7,000.

Part of that $20,000 amount came from the Cobblehaus restaurant, as it chipped in $7,000 as part of its pledge to match all donations up to that amount.
