Task Force requests additional documents, briefing on Sept. 15 assassination attempt

The bipartisan Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump requested additional documents and interviews from the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday, Sept. 17 regarding the attempted assassination of the former president at the Butler Farm Show grounds.

The letter, signed by U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly, R-16th, chairman of the task force, and ranking member Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., includes a request for interviews with the United States Secret Service, state and local law enforcement, Trump, the Trump campaign, would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks’ immediate family as well as owners and customers of Clairton Sportsmen’s Club owners and customers, with a deadline of Sep. 24.

The letter also asks for a log and copies of all evidence the FBI has obtained related to the July 13 event and the shooter.

The task force is also requesting a member-level briefing on the Sep. 15 assassination attempt of the former no later than Sep. 20.
