Rudolph ‘Pete’ Rovnan

Rudolph O. “Pete” Rovnan, 94, of Saxonburg, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, at The Addison of Logan Place.

Born Dec. 26, 1929, in Tarentum, he was the son of Peter Rovnan and Stefania (Gjaso) Rovnan.

He worked as a mechanic for Penn Auto Parts. Later in life he was part owner of Vogel and Rovnan Auto Parts in Tarentum. Growing up, he enjoyed helping his dad on the family farm in Sarver. He enjoyed boating and traveling to his winter residence in Florida. He was a life member of Saxonburg Fireman Club. He was also a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Sue (Driscoll) Rovnan; two brothers, Milian and Joseph; and two sisters, Martha Haas and Mary Rovnan.

ROVNAN — Friends of Rudolph O. “Pete” Rovnan, who died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Stoney Hollow Road, Cabot, with Father Ward Stakem officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Herman.
