Parsons

Marilyn S. Parsons, 70, of Renfrew, and Wilkesboro, N.C., passed away Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Butler, the daughter of the late Dwight Lambie McCandless Sr. and Verona (Hess) McCandless.

Marilyn and her husband owned and operated a liquidation business called Lucky Dollar Inc. in Wilkesboro. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, collecting antiques and watching the Steelers.

Surviving are her husband of 39 years, Earl F. Parsons; three sons, Edward (Mary) Parsons and Michael Parsons, both of Wilkesboro, N.C., and Thomas Parsons of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Elizabeth Parsons and her fiancé, Tim Halsey, of Wilkesboro, N.C.; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dwight (Diana) McCandless Jr. and Shawn McCandless, both of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

PARSONS — Friends of Marilyn S. Parsons, who died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, will be received from 10 a.m. until the time of service at noon Friday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. The Rev. Jim Lewis will officiate.

Interment will be in the North Side Cemetery.
