Harry E. McFarland, 87, of Zelienople, passed away on Tuesday Sept. 3, 2024, after a short illness at UPMC McCandless Hospital.

Born Nov. 23, 1936, in Braddock, he was the son of the late Charles P. and Mary Mulkerin McFarland.

He served in the U.S. Army, and then joined the Marine Corps. After the Marines, he then went on to work for State Pipe, retiring in 1999.

He was a member of Harmony-Zelienople United Methodist Church. He was a proud member of the Zelienople American Legion Post 474. He also belonged to the Hungarian Club in Zelienople.

Harry is survived by his two sons, Edward (Melissa) McFarland and Michael (Linda) McFarland. He is also survived by four brothers, Jim, John, Tom and Dennis; two sisters, Eileen and Linda; two granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

MCFARLAND — A celebration of life for Harry E. McFarland, who died Tuesday Sept. 3, 2024, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 474, 308 W. New Castle St., Zelienople.

Arrangements were entrusted to A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.
