Michalek 65th anniversary
Concordia Lutheran Ministries residents Joseph and Frances Michalek will celebrate their 65th anniversary with a private lunch at the Lund Care Center.
Michalek and the former Frances Whoczewski were married on Feb. 28, 1943, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Natrona Heights.
They have three children, James Michalek of Alamogordo, N.M.; Roseanne Desilets of Anaheim, Calif.; and Kathleen Obaraski of Oak Ridge, Tenn.
They also have four grandchildren.
Michalek worked at Allegheny Ludlum in Brackenridge, retiring in 1979 after 42 years. He enjoys golf, bridge and music. He was also involved with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 186 in Natrona Heights for 30 years and was a member of the Elks Club in Tarentum and the Men of Retirement Age Club. Aveteran of the Army, he served during World War II from 1943-1946. During that time, he worked with an anti-aircraft unit and on bridge engineering in the U.S. and Philippines.
Mrs. Michalek worked as a homemaker. She enjoys music and has been active in senior groups at her church.
The Michaleks are members of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish in Natrona Heights. They enjoy traveling.
