Barbara A. Mahan Spangler Magill

Barbara A. Mahan Spangler Magill, 80, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Evans City, passed away Dec. 2 in St. John's Specialty Care Center, Mars.

Born in Evans City on July 5, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Ada Marion Krietzburg Mahan.

Barbara was a member of the Old Union Presbyterian Church, Mars.

She had worked as a unit clerk for Children's Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

She was a member of the West Carrollton Chapter of O.E.S. in Ohio and the Keen Agers of Slippery Rock. She attended the Evans City Senior Center and had been active in Girl Scouts in Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two grandsons and her brother.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Magill, who she married on Sept. 14, 2003; her three daughters, Rae Ann (Steve) Payne, Karen (Howard) Updyke, and Cheryl Clark, all of Ohio; her son, Harold Spangler of Tennessee; her 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her two stepdaughters, Marie (Tim) Barada of Ohio and Betty (Robert) Cuccaro of Harmony; her five stepsons, Paul (Muriel) Magill and Kim (Beth) Magill, both of New York, Mark (Judy) Magill of North Carolina, Dan (Kathy) Magill of Meridian and Boyd Magill of Evans City; her 16 step grandchildren, and eight step great-grandchildren.

MAGILL — The friends and relatives of Barbara A. Mahan Spangler Magill who died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, are welcome to a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Old Union Presbyterian Church, Mars. A memorial service will follow.The family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Lutheran Senior life Foundation, 401 S. Main St., Zelienople, PA 16063.Arrangements were by the A.
