Ida M. Owens
Ida M. Owens, 71, of Brandywine Village, Connoquenessing Township, died Saturday evening at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born in Allegheny County, on Sept. 15, 1941, a daughter of John and Betty Malloy Anke.
Ida was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian, the Christian Mothers of St. Fidelis, and she had played in several area women's golf leagues since moving here from Ross Township about six years ago.
A homemaker, she had previously worked as a part-time teller for PNC Bank and First Federal Savings and Loan Association.
Surviving are her husband of 48 years, James A. Owens. They had married May 2, 1964. Also surviving are three sons, Kevin Owens of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Timothy of Ross Township and Jamie (Rachel) Owens of West View; two grandchildren, Sean and McKenna Owens; two brothers, Al (Linda) Anke and Jack (Diane) Anke, all of McCandless Township, Allegheny County; and five nieces and a nephew.
OWENS — Friends of Ida M. Owens, who died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler. The Rev. James Murphy, pastor, will officiate.The Bereavement Committee of St. Fidelis Parish will conduct a prayer service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations could be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, 146 N.
